Dr. Michael Lisien
Dr. Michael Lisien was born and raised in the small town of Portland, Connecticut. He attended Loyola University Chicago where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine and Endodontic residency certification.
Dr. Lisien is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Being a board certified endodontist epitomizes Dr. Lisien’s dedication and excellence in his field.
Since 2011, Dr. Lisien has continuously been voted by his peers in Pittsburgh Magazine as one of the city’s top dentists practicing in the field of Endodontics.
Dr. Lisien currently resides in Upper Saint Clair with his wife Laura, and two sons, Noah and Spencer. In his spare time, Dr. Lisien enjoys being outdoors with his family in all of the four seasons. He also nurtures a passion for all things aviation.
Dr. Janel Marcelino
Dr. Janel Marcelino grew up in San Jose, California and now calls Pittsburgh home. Dr. Marcelino is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She received her undergraduate degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California-Berkeley. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine and Endodontic Specialty Certification at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Marcelino is involved in organized dentistry and academia. She has served in multiple capacities as a board member of the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania, including holding the posts of editor-in-chief and assistant secretary. She served as the vice chair of the New Dentist Committee of the Pennsylvania Dental Association. She has also served as an ADA Success Speaker. Dr. Marcelino has been a clinical faculty member and endodontic literature instructor at Pitt Dental’s Department of Endodontics since 2014.
Dr. Marcelino, a self-proclaimed bookworm, resides in Ross Township with her husband, John.
Dr. Shilpa Chaudhry
Dr. Shilpa Chaudhry graduated from Boston University school of dentistry in 2005 and then did her General Practice Residency from University of Washington, Seattle. She moved to Pittsburgh where she practiced general dentistry for over 8 years. Her passion for endodontics took her to University of Pittsburgh where she did an intensive two year residency program. During her training, she did research which was later published in the Australian Endodontic Journal.
Dr. Chaudhry brings years of experience of general dentistry and extensive endodontics training to the group.
She has been named one of the top endodontists in the city by Pittsburgh Magazine. She’s a strong advocate of patient education and treats all patients with compassion. She’s lived in Sewickley for the past 13 years and enjoys running, biking and hiking with her husband, Sid and their children, Sai and Shelly.
Dr. Benjamin Levine
Dr. Benjamin Levine grew up in Monroeville, PA and received his B.S. and D.M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. During his time at Pitt, Dr. Levine conducted research on bone regeneration and was published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was awarded the Dean’s Research Scholarship.
Upon graduation, Dr. Levine completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Pittsburgh where he discovered his passion for endodontics. This led him to return to the University of Pittsburgh to complete his Specialty Certificate in Endodontics.
Dr. Levine is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and previously served as the staff endodontist for the Pittsburgh VA Hospital. He has been voted by his peers in Pittsburgh Magazine as one of the city’s top endodontists.
Currently, he resides in Squirrel Hill with his wife and their two dogs. In his free time, he enjoys watching Pittsburgh sports, skiing, and traveling.
Dr. James Benson
Dr. Benson was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Following high school, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering from the University of Missouri – Columbia and graduated with honors. Being awarded a full-ride scholarship through the United States Navy, he attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS).
Following graduation, Dr. Benson was stationed at multiple different commands over six years. In 2016, he deployed overseas for seven months on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). After separating from the Navy, he completed a Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Pittsburgh and is now working towards his board certification.
Dr. Benson is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, and American Association of Endodontists. He resides in Cranberry Township with his wife and their four children and works as part-time faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Endodontics Department. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, working out, SCUBA diving, model building, and hunting.
